SECCA produces and presents a diverse array of innovative educational, artistic, performance, and social programs throughout the year. With programs for children, teens and adults, we invite visitors to explore and reflect on contemporary art and culture.
Come experience contemporary art at SECCA as a family. Our family programs are led by SECCA educators and artists and provide opportunities for families to discover contemporary art together through play, creative art making, and family-oriented gallery tours and experiences.
Nestled on the scenic museum grounds stands a 1929 English-style mansion that once belonged to James G. Hanes. Built as the country home of the textile industrialist and civic leader, the Hanes House became the unlikely home of NCMA Winston-Salem when Hanes bequeathed the house upon his passing in 1972.
Explore the historic house's stately spaces via experiences with the visual, musical, and culinary arts.
Our relationships with our partners drive much of our programming. As a contemporary arts center, these collaborations with community, state and national organizations make our programs richer because together we highlight the issues of our time in meaningful ways through a variety of art forms.
